Combining dance workshops, parties and performances with over 150 Latin dancers and live bands, a ticket to
The Melbourne Latin Festival is guaranteed to heat up the dance floor. Over 3 nights and 2 days from Friday March 19th to Sunday March 21st, the festival will run daily workshops for everyone from the complete beginner to dance professionals in all areas of Latin dance.
A sell-out event in 2009, get in quick when purchasing tickets. A full pass which allows you access to every workshop, performance and party is $330, however day and night passes are also available. Tickets to the Friday and Saturday performances and party are $65 and can be purchased
online. The festival will be held at
Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre, a short two minute walk from Bell train station along the Epping Line. Parking is also available at the centre and around George Street.
This year's theme is 'Circus Carnevale' which will be celebrated in three nightly performances by some of the best celebrity dancers from shows such as
'So You Think You Can Dance' and
'Dancing with the Stars'. Learn to appreciate rhythm and bust a move with the Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha, Tango and Flamenco. Classes are taught by some of the best Latin instructors both locally and internationally to help you dance the weekend away in colourful style.
