Having attended this event last year, it is easy to say that Carlton Gardens is the perfect location to host Melbourne's annual
International Flower and Garden Show.
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show in 2011 was just terrific. The highlights for me included the beautiful garden art and the garden designs. This five day event is regarded as the most successful horticultural event in the southern hemisphere.
The garden designs were fantastic, and it was easy to think that you were in paradise, and without a doubt I would hire anyone of the landscapers on show if I ever needed any gardening landscaping work done. The
Disney Fairies Children's Garden was also great to look at.
The entertainment last year was surprising; there were roving entertainers including a Scottish man with a massive poodle character performed by a human being. People were in stitches. That whole experience was a little bit of a blur, but many people (myself included) could not stop laughing.
There is so much for sale from garden supplies to the Better Homes and Gardens showbag. I also loved
Garnier World, where for a gold coin donation you get to choose from a facial, a massage or getting your hair done up in a braid, and a goodie bag was provided on the house which included $50 worth of Garnier products. There was a small queue to get in, however the experience of receiving an awesome neck, shoulder and back massage from a trained expert was well worth it.
Hint: the earlier you come to the show on the weekends, the better. Go to Garnier World first before it gets busy. That is if Garnier World is available for 2012.
If you love nature and Melbourne culture, then this event is worth considering.
