Love Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Cinema - you're not alone.
The Melbourne Filmoteca is a special non-profit group dedicated to promoting Latin America culture in Australia - through screenings of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese feature film, documentary and short-films.
As Australian film distribution of International film titles is somewhat sparse, the Melbourne Filmoteca is also offering a unique opportunity for Australian audiences to view and embrace the up and coming directors, writers and actors of the national cinemas of Portugal, Mexico, Argentina, Columbia and Spain.
Hosted exclusively at ACMI cinemas, the Melbourne Filmoteca hold monthly screenings of feature films, documentary and short film at the price of $15 for a single ticket or $12 concession ticket.
All feature films and documentaries are screened in their original language, with English subtitles. As the feature films are not rated by the OFLC, they remain unclassified and as such, they are for an adult audience, unless advertised otherwise.
To receive regular updates on upcoming events curated by Melbourne Filmoteca, sign up to their newsletter. The organisation don't just promote film screenings, they also orgainse cultural events and festivities. So if you have an interest in Latin American culture, join up today.
