Great news abounds for all of us Melburnians; there are some great ways to get out, get excited and beat the winter blues this June. Melbourne's weather is currently a bit nippy outside as it is, yet there are a few more great events for Melbourne to enjoy in June. Following on from May , I now present to you the top five Melbourne events for June 2012.

1. Good Food and Wine Show

Winter is usually all about hibernating at home, rugged up against the couch with all heaters on with a tea or a hot chocolate in tow; so it is rather timely, appropriate and fitting (well Melbourne is the food capital of Australia after all) for the land of foodie paradise to come knocking on our doors at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the Good Food and Wine Show on the first weekend in June. This annual event is here once again with cooking demonstrations and the opportunity to taste a number of different delicacies to cater to many different taste buds. Come here quite hungry. Expect to be indulge in all the different foods and wines. This event also makes for a great opportunity to buy your fresh foods in lieu of the markets for a change, and maybe at bargain prices too.

2. Melbourne Winter Masterpieces

Delightful exhibitions will take to the NGV and the Melbourne Museum from the start of June, well into early October. Since the programs inception in 2004, the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition has become a popular arts bonanza. This year's exhibition offerings will include an exhibition on at the NGV International on St Kilda Road called Napoleon: Revolution to Empire ; a delightful camaraderie of French arts and culture from the 1770s to the 1820s. Well it is fitting really, Melbourne was discovered by Europeans.

3. Melbourne International Jazz Festival

An annual event bringing some (if not nearly all of) the best international jazz musicians to Melbourne over two weekends in June. Further information on this annual event (music to our ears) can be found by clicking here .

4. Mind, Body and Spirit Festival

Melburnians are into their health and wellbeing. A great way to cleanse your chakras, experience a tarot card reading, buy some great spiritual items for the home and even learn how to meditate to name. If this resonates with you, why don't you check this exhibition out for yourself. A popular annual event held over the Queens birthday long weekend.

5. Circus Oz at Birrarung Marr

Death defying stunts would be an understatement, circus at its best. Great for both adults and children alike. Quality acrobatic performances that you leave you feeling pleasantly in awe by this magic.

So there you have it Melbourne, five quality events to pick and choose from to break those winter chills. Enjoy.
