Who does not like a juicy, filling, nutritious and flavoursome burger? There are a few great burger joints in Melbourne (and I am not talking about McDonald's or any of those 'celebrity' type burgers sold by fast food chains) worth salivating over, and as an additional bonus; the burgers I am talking about also provide a satisfying lunch with chips.

Any of the burgers I have purchased from Lord of the Fries at Melbourne Central, and from Grill'd at QV are just fantastic and rather flavoursome. The meat patty is just so juicy, and the choices available are just stunning.

My most enjoyable burger experience would have to be at Huxtaburger at Collingwood. American style burgers? Yes, please! They are named after a family on The Cosby Show. The main burger (out of the four burgers) is the Huxtaburger - a well cooked wagyu beef patty, American mustard, mayo, tomato sauce, cheese, lettuce and pickles in soft and tasty (not sugary) bun, which looks like a brioche - at $8 a pop, it's a great food date. Having tasted the Huxtaburger, I actually loved how all the fillings blended in so nicely together.

Now it's over to you. Where have you found Melbourne's best burger, and why is it the best? Looking forward to a burgerlicious discussion.

Lord of the Fries do not serve meat. It is a con. Please correct your article implying that Lord of the fries serve a meat patty. They are a vegetarian restaurant only.

Punjabi Indian curry cafe in craigieburn. It's not really a burger, in fact it's not a burger at all. But get some butter chicken and put it into nan bread and you have a make shift burger!

Tree of Us - new little up and coming cafe in RIchmond.. These guys know what they're doing. The 'tree cheese' burger boasting three cheeses is alone worth a visit. Recently introduced the Mexican burger basically it's the taste of Mexico in a bun. Check it out!!

Urban Burger hands down and without a doubt. I'm not a vegetarian and I dont know what they put in their vege patties but they have the best tasting vege burgers around and the most amazing chicken and beef burgers too.

Laurie Dee's (Epping, Victoria) A modernized American style diner... specialises in hamburgers (they mince the meat on the premises, no frozen meat here) & frozen custard... say what? Yes, frozen custard! There seasoned french fries are also brilliant worth a try.
