Looking for a new hobby, or feel like learning something a bit different? Well, just a hop, ski and a jump from Old Street tube you'll find just what you're looking for. McQueens Floristry School offers a variety of courses for those serious about the art of flower arranging.

McQueens Floristry School, with its HQ on Old Street, offer a range of courses, from beginner to advanced, over a range of study lengths, from one day courses to 6 weeks in length.

The one day courses offer a range of specific disciplines to those keen to dabble, including vase arrangements, button holes, and even vegetable arrangements. The longer length courses are ideally suited to those who want to make floristry more of a profession - giving the resources for learners to express themselves, and fostering the ability to be able to develop their own styles in this very creative art. The courses are based around the seasons, so you will make the most of the natural resources available in your particular season of study, making every course more or less unique - though the skills are universal.

McQueens is not just a school however, and they are more than able to practice what they preach, through their shop (or online). They cater to a variety of different needs, from window displays to wedding bouquets, examples of which can be seen in their online gallery.

So whatever entry level you think you are, the proof is in the pudding, go along there and have a try. However, if you think you're fingers aren't green enough - well, there's no occasion where flowers aren't an acceptable gift.
