**Collectors and buyers will be treated to one of the most exciting auctions in years, with McKenzies Auctioneers promoting a packed catalogue featuring more than 400 valuable pieces, including rare paintings depicting two of James Packer's special relationships and a stunning antique diamond brooch valued at $50,000, but expected to sell for between $7500
to $12,000**.Running over two days on 2nd and 3rd August 2016, the line-up also features a large range of European paintings alongside famous Australian artists including Pro Hart, Brett Whiteley, Robert Juniper, as well as Arthur and David Boyd.
Items also include 18 prestigious wrist watches from Rolex, Cartier, Bvlgari and Longines, as well as over 130 lots of jewellery including a 2.59 carat diamond ring which is expected to sell for around $6000, a Linneys 18 carat yellow baroque pearl necklace with an auction price of $4500-­& #8208 ;$7500 as well as significant 19th Century collectables, all of which have been priced for genuine sale.
Headlining the auction is the opportunity to purchase two paintings by renowned Australian painter, David Bromley. The paintings represent two of James Packer's most publicised relationships, with girlfriend Kate Fischer and ex-wife, Jodhi Meares. These paintings are estimated to sell between $3,500 and $5,500, although the retail price for each is around $18,000.
Also guaranteed to attract attention is a significant range of antique and modern jewellery, consigned by local families and estates, including an incredible 18 carat white gold 3.77carat total diamond weight spray brooch, which features a rare fine-white centre diamond of 1.3 carats, valued at $50,000 but expected to sell for $7500-$12,000. Supporting this item is a stunning 19th century diamond enamel brooch featuring an
old mine-cut centre diamond, twelve-claw set in silver and held within a frame of blue enamel among 28 old-cut diamonds. The centre diamond is 2.58 carats. Estimates place the auction value at between $7,500 and $12,000. McKenzies Auctioneers also lists an antique 9-carat yellow gold carved garnet brooch featuring a large cabochon-garnet intaglio, carved with the initials A.R. for Queen Anne. The piece features claws set with 20 rose cut diamonds and bears the date of 1710 and is engraved, "Anne Regina," on its reverse. It is offered with the enticing auction estimate of $600 to $1,000.
