Everyone's favourite chocolate by a certain bald man has officially landed in Adelaide and has found a home at a prime spot in the city. Considered to be one of the finest chocolate bars in Australia and creating a unique chocolate culture, Max Brenner has added their Adelaide store to the list of 43 other stores, gracing us with quality chocolate that locals have often had to travel to other states to enjoy.

Walking into this store, you are welcomed with a chocolate shop that is conveniently located at the exit, so you can take the luxury of this eccentric chocolate bar back home. The store is filled with everything chocolate-laced that you can possibly imagine - chocolate bricks the size of your face, bonbons, crispy wafers - all waiting to be gifted and shared with other chocolate lovers. The fact that they're neatly divided into sections makes the potential purchase all the more appealing.

Further deep into the store is the seating area and the crux of the chocolate bar. The place is well-designed, with chocolate-appreciative murals adorning the walls, along with relaxed and well-spaced tables and chairs to provide you with just the right balance of intimacy and socialising. Not a fan of indoor seating and prefer to be out in the sun? There's limited outdoor seating available too. The dessert bar can accommodate up to 100 people at a time.

The menu is extensive, offering customers with options of hearty fondues, decadent pastries, and creamy milkshakes (to name a few). Cold and hot beverages are also available for purchase, in addition to sweet treats and lollies that are available by the register.

Primarily aimed to be a breakfast/brunch/dessert spot, Max Brenner has established itself to be a powerful point of contact where one can enjoy a romantic date or an exciting catch up with a small (or large) group of friends. It is this versatile essence of chocolate that makes it so much more than just about its taste. And no matter what the weather outside, this place has the ability to instantly put you in a good mood.

The customer service here is exceptional as well - with so many friendly faces and a plethora of sweet options on the menu, how can you have a bad day?

For desserts, we were humbly offered to sample two iconic items from their menu.

Drizzled in its signature chocolate sauce, the Tutti-Frutti waffle ($19.50) was served with 2 waffles, which were light and soft in texture. Coupled with the crunchiness from the fresh strawberries and bananas and with a scoop of chocolate ice cream on the side, it is safe to say that we were in a heavenly state of a sweet food coma.

The white chocolate crumb cheesecake ($11.20) was served with strawberries & a pot of pure melted chocolate. The cheesecake was super creamy, which complemented the crumbly top layer effortlessly. The strawberries and bananas on the side were delicious add-ons that made us feel like we were enjoying a mini fondue with melted chocolate, which beautifully enveloped itself around the fruits.

While it is safe to say that we had to roll ourselves out of there, there is no doubt that will be back to indulge in the goodness that Max Brenner has blessed Adelaide with! We may not have had the chance (or the stomach) to try everything on the menu, but that has certainly become a goal to accomplish over the (many) future visits. Chocolate pizzas have always tickled my fancy, so here's hoping that it is just as amazing as it sounds.

Are you ready to make your chocolate love story blossom yet?
