My Kitchen Fools will raise hell at the McLaren Vale Bocce Club this May - but it is for a good cause!Matt Byrne Media's smash-hit Fringe comedy My Kitchen Fools is heading south for a comedy fundraiser at the McLaren Vale Bocce Club on Saturday 6th of May, 2017 at 7.30 pm.The crazy comedy, which takes the mickey out of reality cooking shows, was sold-out for five weeks at the recent Adelaide Fringe and creator Matt Byrne is delighted to bring it to the McLaren Vale Bocce Club."We had a fantastic season with critics and audiences raving about the show. Then McLaren Vale Bocce Club social committee members Marie Kimber and Jenni Mitton came to see the show up in Adelaide at Maxim's Wine Bar and loved it. So they invited us to bring the show down to raise money for the club, so we're coming down to give everyone a night to remember!" Byrne said.
Byrne said My Kitchen Fools shoved "half-baked reality cooking shows in the oven! It turns up the heat on the ridiculous array of TV celebrity chefs and the many TV shows they serve up. The public obsession with reality shows like My Kitchen Rules has always amazed me, I'm surprised they don't have one about how to do the ironing! We used to have cooking shows, now we have cooking CHANNELS!".My Kitchen Fools is hosted and judged by Gordon Ramraid (Matt Byrne), Nigella's Awesome (Niki Martin), Rachel Rayban (Stefanie Rossi) and Jamie Bolivar (Marc Clement). "But we also play the four teams who are fighting to win the right to run their own pop-up restaurant in McLaren Vale's Main Road" said Byrne.
"We have a Greek grandmother and grandson team Glendi and Con Moussaka, Scottish best friends Colin and Justin, the super bitchy sisters Jacinta and Placinta Farkin and hippie throwbacks Big Daddy Moontides and his Nimbin niece, Moonbeam. They are joined by other Celebrity Chefs, including Poo with an H, Saggy Beer, Galiano Zumba and Hester Bloominheck."Byrne said reality cooking shows gave people a chance for "15 minutes in the oven of fame".
We get to know, love and hate these people who have no cooking skills but loads of ambition" he says."We sing and dance and give the audience an interactive taste of everything from snakes, to oysters, pheasant plucking, creamy cantaloupes and zero gravity green cheese. It's a feast of comic ingredients but like every hit cooking show, it's not about the food!"**This interactive theatre production is sure to be a lot of fun and will play at the McLaren Vale Bocce Club at Park Drive, McLaren Vale on Saturday 6th of May, 2017 at 7.30 pm. Arrive for pre-show drinks from 6.30 pm. All tickets are $20. Bookings are available online at trybooking.com . BYO Supper![/b]
