The Masters of Cinema film program is currently screening in selected Event, Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle cinemas in Brisbane and New South Wales.

Masters of Cinema is a special selection of timeless feature films which are screening throughout the year. Not only is this a rare chance to see a range of classic titles such as Citizen Kane (1941), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Singin' in the Rain (1952) and The African Queen (1951) in a modern cinema setting, but the special evening screenings, which are scheduled at 7pm, are preceded at 6pm by drinks and canapés.

Highlights of the film program include forthcoming screenings of My Fair Lady (1964), Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Ben Hur (1959), Doctor Zhivago (1965) and The Maltese Falcon (1941). Whether you love drama, musicals, romance or thrillers, this film program is sure to please everyone.

Plus this is the perfect opportunity to revisit a classic or perhaps discover it for the first time - so you won't have to tell a white lie, next time someone asks you if you have seen The Great Escape (1963) - which has the unusual honour of being one of the top ten films people lie about have seen - four out of five people apparently lie about having seen The Godfather (1972).

You can view the entire film program for the remainder of the year at the Event Cinemas website, where you can also purchase your ticket in advance for several upcoming screenings.

The ticket price (either $18, $25 or $28 per person) and film program varies between cinemas, for full details please visit the schedule here. Your ticket price may include a drink, popcorn and choc top combo depending on your cinema location.
