Conveniently located close to the Hoyts cinema in Norwood, Manto Café offers up a great range of Italian and Australian style dishes. The place proved to be very popular, attracting a large crowd during the dinner hour.

The squid in their Lemon Pepper Squid was tender and nicely set off by their crisp coating. The use of lemon pepper seasoning gave the squid a slightly tangy taste that is a bit different from the Salt and Pepper Squid often seen at Australian cafes. Served with the squid were crisp and fluffy chips, a salad with a delectable tangy flavour and aioli to dip the squid in.



The Soup of the Day offered during our visit was Chicken and Vegetable. This soup had a delicious savoury flavour and a generous portion of chicken and vegetables. As expected, a bread roll and butter were served with the soup for a complete meal. It is advisable to enjoy the dish slowly as it comes to you steaming hot.



Notable for the use of blue swimmer crab meat, the penne pasta we chose for the Marinara Pasta was cooked to al dente with the various types of seafood all cooked to perfection. The rose sauce tied everything together and there was just enough garlic to provide a hint of a garlicky flavour. Both entrée and main sized portions of this dish are available. There is also a gluten free option for a bit of an extra cost for those that cannot eat gluten based products.



To complete our dinner, we decided to order their Snickers Cheesecake. Although we thought the base was a bit too thick, the filling was of the texture we expected with the right amount of chocolate-peanut flavour that you expect from the cheesecake's namesake. The addition of peanut to the base added a bit of crunch and an extra element of flavour.
