Homebound and living in Wynnum Manly?

No need to go too far with some great bushwalks as well as the popular Wynnum Manly foreshore, which can get busy at times.

So for some good social distancing walking, without going far outside the suburbs, try the following bush walks for some variety.

Melaleuca Park bounded by Clifton Street, Manly West and Keyes Street, Lota – This has a great wooded track with a large open space in the middle.

Mookin-bah Reserve off Whites Road – The reserve is home to koalas, bandicoots and two large ponds for water birds. READ MORE .

The Chelsea Road loop – Great for bikes as well as walkers connecting Chelsea Road to Rickets Road and Whites Road.

The Chadwell Street Tingalpa Creek Reserve

Hemmant Quarry Reserve, opposite ALDI on Wynnum Road, Wynnum West – A great circular walk around the old Hemmant Quarry. Short but with some rises along the footpath.

If you are walking along the foreshore there are some options to get away from other walkers:

Wynnum Creek to the Mangrove Board Walk – Lovely walk along and in the mangroves. READ MORE.

Lota Parklands – Enjoy the views of Moreton Bay whilst walking or cycling. READ MORE.

George Clayton Park - Another option is to divert from the foreshore to take the walking path through George Clayton Park to avoid the narrowest section of the Esplanade near the fenced area.
**
REMEMBER **– These are suggestions for your exercise and for those in Wynnum Manly. Keep a safe distance from others when out walking and no more than two to a group unless from a single household.
