Rock up the CareFusion Manly Jazz Festival this October long weekend and get groovin’ and movin’ with a great line up of the best of National and International musicians. Now in its 32nd year, the Festival is the largest and longest running of its kind in Australia.
Join the tens of thousands of jazz enthusiasts that flock to
Manly this time every year, to hear an impressive range of jazz styles. Bebop and swing through the streets along with over 800 jazz musicians including the Swing City Big Band, Trumpet Summit, multi award winning saxophonist Dale Barnett, who has performed with legendary artists such as Chet Baker and Dizzy Gillespie, to name but a few.
You’ve heard him on ABC radio. Now listen live to the smooth sounds of
James Valentine on his saxophone with his Quartet performing Sunday at lunchtime. And you won’t want to miss the swinging performance of Manly saxophonist
Andrew Speight, with special guest and multi-instrumentalist
James Morrison. A dynamic combination.
Though there will be The John Speight Stage, Manly Wharf Forecourt Stage, Markets by the Sea Stage and Manly Council Chambers Forecourt Stage, much of the jazz action will take place on the huge Ocean Beach Front Stage, by Manly’s Pacific Beach. The stunning beach provides the perfect scenic backdrop to enjoy the music, delicious food in the many cafes and restaurants Manly has to offer, or just sit back with an ice-cream and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Apart from stage performances, there’s also roving bands from noon to 4pm daily, including the Hot Potato Band, Smokey Mary’s Jazz Band and the New Orleans Rascals.

Parking could be difficult, so why not make use of
Hop, Skip and Jump, Manly's free community bus. Or you could catch the
ferry from Circular Quay in the city.
