Visitors to Brisbane's east side can enjoy bay views and the sea breeze ruffling their hair, while still receiving the cocktails and funky lounge vibe present in most inner city bars.
The Manly Deck comes with views of Moreton Bay
The
Manly Deck is a bar and bistro situated in a picturesque waterside setting. The establishment is housed in the second story of a reconditioned Queenslander, in the Moreton Bay suburb of Manly. The Deck is located within walking distance of Manly's iconic boat harbours and the wraparound balcony offers views of the bay.
Indecisive patrons get the best of both worlds here – inside, a modern bar with pool table and retro furnishings; outside, a laid back spot perfect for Sunday afternoon drinks. Caveat emptor – the beer selection is a little lacking.
Feeling peckish? The bistro offers dinner from Tuesday to Sunday and breakfast and lunch on weekends. The food is modern Australian and provides the standard pub fare, with a heavy sampling of seafood. Examples include favourites like steak sandwich and surf and turf, or comfort foods like slow roasted lamb shank, and arguably the best garlic prawns in Brisbane.
For budget bites, try Tapas Tuesday, where you will receive one free tapas dish with every two purchased, or come on Thursday for $12 steak and chips. Cash strapped tourists should check at the adjacent The Manly Harbour Backpackers, with residents of the hostel receiving reduced price meals and drinks at the Deck.
The Manly Deck is located upstairs on the corner of Cambridge Parade and Stratton Terrace and is open from Tuesday until Sunday.
