If you'd like to throw a summer barbeque or pool party but can't afford to pay for alcohol, why not make your own? There's no guarentee that the quality will be high but hey, it's alcohol, and practice makes perfect.
It's super easy and super cheap to make a fruit infused basic alcohol.
You will need:
A small funnel
1 clean plastic jug,
1 packet of yeast
2 cups of white sugar
About 500g juice concentrate
Water
One large balloon.
You will also need to get started at least three days before you require the hooch.
Using the funnel, pour the yeast, sugar and fruit juice concentrate into the jug. Screw the lid back on and shake to mix the contents together. Then, fill the jug with water, replace the lid and shake the mixture together again.
Remove the lid and stretch the balloon over the mouth of your jug. Store the jug in a cool place (but not your refrigerator) for about three days. The balloon with inflate with gas as the alcohol forms – it is ready to serve as soon as the balloon deflates. The longer it sits, the more alcoholic the brew will become.
Refrigerate and serve.
For a simple summer cocktail, just add crushed ice and fresh fruit. This drink also makes a good base for a fruity
punch.
