Make a Calendar

Every household needs a calendar, but how often do you buy one for yourself? A homemade calendar, complete with personalised photographs, makes an excellent present for family and friends.

If you have Microsoft Office, you can use Publisher to design and create your date's section. The program makes it easy to customise your own design – you can choose something that's been pre-arranged or use fonts, borders and Clip-Art to come up with something new, and you can print out each month on a sheet of A4 or squish all the months onto one page. When you're done, print it out and attach to a laminated copy of your favourite photograph.

Alternately, you can use an online program to help you with the dates. My Free Calendar Maker gives you a choice of yearly, monthly, daily or weekly calendars while Calendar Labs allows you to attach a photograph from your computer or online image organiser program.

If you don't mind spending a little bit of money, you can produce something more professional looking thanks to Kodak Gallery. There's a variety of different formats, including magnets, accordion folds and wall hanging calendars, and you can do it all online. Pricing starts at $19.99, but is lower for bulk orders.

Share those special landmark moments or show off your amazing photography skills by gifting those close to you with homemade calendars.
