The movie was funny at the start as we were introduced to characters in lycra and assless chaps, but took on more of a drama feel as it got going.
Tatum had some thrilling dance moves that showed off his flexible hips, strong legs and included plenty of well-timed thrusts. His stunning moves made up for some of the holes in the plot of Magic Mike.
Matthew McConaughey almost stole the show as Dallas - the older leader of the all-male dance review. He looked like he was in his element in his super tight short shorts. His character was a mockery of everything tacky about stripping - the outfits, the lifestyle and the 'bam, look at this' dance moves.

There was some sex (but not as graphic as expected) and some romance and overall, Magic Mike felt like a cross between Coyote Ugly (the male version) and Boogie Nights (for the seedier side of the stripper industry).
Not just a movie for horny women - guys will probably enjoy this one too. Yes, really.
