Meeting a celebrity can be a huge thrill; the shock when you realise who it is, getting up the courage to go up and say hello, giggling like a nervous schoolgirl as you stumble over your words, and then getting that one photo to show off to all your friends.
Johnny isn't always happy with the attention from the paparazzi.
But unless you've got nothing better to do than hang around at the airport or in certain posh suburbs waiting to catch a glimpse of an A-list superstar, celeb encounters are few and far between.
Morgan Freeman's wax likeness is startling.
So if you want to channel your inner paparazzo and go somewhere you're guaranteed some celebrity sightings, head to
Madame Tussauds. Located on Marylebone Road, this wacky wax museum has been drawing in the crowds
since 1884.
Where else are you going to get this close to Helen Mirren?
Madame Tussaud learnt to model wax likenesses in Paris, where she became art tutor to King Louis XVI's sister at the Palace of Versailles. She came to Britain in the early 19th century with a travelling exhibition of revolutionary relics and wax models of public figures. In 1835, she established a permanent base for the exhibition at the Baker Street Bazaar, before its later move to the current location.
Discuss your plans for revolution with Fidel.
Today, Madame Tussauds pulls in the tourists by the thousands, all clamouring to pose for a picture with any number of
famous figures. You can get up close and personal with the amazing wax likenesses of actors like Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, sports stars like Brian Lara and Jonah Lomu, or political figures like Fidel Castro and Winston Churchill. Sip a scotch with Sean Connery, ask Jim Carrey why he hasn't made a decent movie in years, and pull out all the stops to try to woo Prince Harry.
The sports stars section is good fun.
It's the perfect way to waste a couple of hours, whether you're posing for a new pic for your Facebook profile or just marvelling at just how life-like these wax figures look.
