The Macquarie Inn offers 28 colonial country, timber ceiling, air conditoned, large veranda accommodation style units.



We took the Classic Room package for 4 with a queen bed and two single beds, with bar fridge, sink and plenty of bench space. There was also a TV, DVD with Austar (6 channels), wi-fi access that had no interruptions and beautiful wooden slat ceilings and brick walls.



Each unit has a veranda offering full sun. It faces the main road and oval across the road. There is a shopping centre, Japanese Gardens within a 10 minute walk and Ten Pin Bowling around the corner, from the hotel.

A wonderful play area, adjacent to the bistro for the children and has live streaming for those in the bistro .



We spent both afternoons in the pool, cooling off. It was 42 degree heat when we went to Dubbo. The pool has a few steep steps, and is on the smaller size of pools, but it is in such a great spot, just near the units, with a brick wall adding pool privacy, which other hotels in Dubbo lack as a lot of them face the main roads. Swimming towels are available on request.



The staff are very friendly and helpful. When staying overnight a complimentary continental breakfast is included at the bistro, should you wish to have a hot breakfast just add $5.00. You can charge your meals to your room.

A fantastic place to hold a function as the Hotel has two function rooms, and accommodation is on the same site. The staff clean the units while you are gone for the day, so you can relax when you return from your daily activities.

The staff were eager to converse with us on our whereabouts and thoughts. I felt so at home here, like I had been here for years at the Macquarie Inn .

Never once did I hear 'I'm bored'. What I did hear at 8am was 'can I go for a swim'. No-one was bothered by noise and an absolutely enjoyable time was had at Macquarie Inn Dubbo. If I had to give a honest rating it would be a 9/10. Factoring pricing of accommodation and dining, it's excellent value and fantastic service. The bistro is very popular so please be aware about 30 minutes from ordering to your meal is served.



Highly recommended if wanting a central place to stay in Dubbo; it's to the south of the Town, upon entering Dubbo from Wellington.
