Built in the 16th Century, the house is the largest in Cheshire, encompassing around 130 feet by 190 feet and a history rich in intrigue.

The formal gardens of six hectares are set in a deer park of over five hundred hectares, grazed by descendants of the original red deer that inhabited the land when the park was first enclosed in the 14th Century.
