There is more to archaeology than meets the eye
Celebrate National Archaeology Week by coming to this free lunchtime liaison event hosted by Heritage Perth.

If you think archaeology is all about eccentrically dressed people sifting around in the sand looking for artefacts ,then you might be surprised. At this talk Richard Offen, Executive Director Heritage Perth will explain how archaeology plays a vital role in conservation.

Building archaeology can reconstruct the history of a building or ruin using observations and measurements of the structure to create a building timeline. In conjunction with other evidence, this is vital to developing a conservation plan for a building and its surroundings. He will also share how attitudes to the conservation of heritage structures have changed over time.

Register now for the 'Conservation at Work' free talk on 25 May,12.30pm-1.30pm in the City of Perth Library Auditorium, 573 Hay St Perth.
