Ever since my first brief visit to Juicy Goose I had been dying to get back there for a proper meal. And what better excuse than to celebrate a birthday with my sister and our Mum.

We visited Juicy Goose on a weekday for lunch. Despite the restaurant's unconventional location, in an industrial estate, it appears to be quite well known and there were few empty tables on this particular day. If you are planning on going on a weekend or have a large group I would certainly recommend making a booking to avoid disappointment.

With the outdoor temperature in the mid-30's the air-conditioning was a blessing, however in cooler weather there is a small outdoor seating area for alfresco dining. The licensed café has a rustic and funky feel and the menu options are extensive. You can check out the full menu here.

For lunch the menu includes steak, salmon, burgers, pizza, pasta and salads. The café is proud to use local produce and fresh ingredients from the Macarthur area. With so many mouth-watering dishes on the menu, it is difficult to choose, however after you have made your decision you order and pay at the counter.

The staff are friendly and the service was fast. We didn't wait long at all for our meals to arrive. My sister and I chose a burger each, while Mum opted for some sliders.

The burger I chose was "The Hen" containing chicken breast marinated in tomato, garlic and basil sauce, topped with a generous serving of bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado and aioli in a delicious brioche bun and accompanied by a side of steakhouse fries.

The burger looked magnificent and tasted even better. The fresh ingredients enhanced the flavours and made it really tasty. Despite the large serving I managed to finish the whole burger. The steakhouse fries were crisp and tasty but were too filling for me to finish.

.

My sister ordered the 'Smoked Cheddar and Lentil Burger'. It contains a lentil, cheese and carrot patty topped with beetroot relish, avocado, carrot, rocket, smoked cheddar and mint yoghurt on a brioche bun and is also served with steakhouse fries. She was very happy with her choice and rated this burger as excellent.

My mum ordered two sliders - the 'Little Hen' ( a smaller serving of my burger) and the 'Piglet' containing pork belly, caramelised onion, slaw and BBQ sauce on a brioche bun. Mum's favourite was the pork belly slider and she gave it a big thumbs up The sliders are a great option for those with a smaller appetite.

Prices are reasonable at $18 a burger and $6.50 per slider as the servings are generous and the ingredients fresh and delicious.

Apart from the gorgeous food, Juicy Goose is known for its great coffee and loose leaf teas, so we couldn't leave without having a coffee. Again the servings are generous, with the regular cappuccino looking quite large to me. The coffee was excellent and we left as very satisfied customers.

Juicy Goose serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week. The café is child friendly with special Kids Breakfast and Lunch menus and there are highchairs available. The café is also licensed and serves craft beer, wine and spirits.

Breakfast is served from 7am - 11am on weekdays and from 8am until 11.45am on weekends. They are open until 4pm on Mondays, until 9pm from Tuesday to Saturday and until 5pm on Sundays. Bookings are welcome.

The Juicy Goose Café is located at 40 Anderson Road, Smeaton Grange and adjoins Ultimate Karting Sydney . You can check out the website here or follow on Facebook and Instagram.
