These school holidays if you and your kids find yourself around the Perth Cultural Centre, then you may want to drop in and see some local wildlife at the Western Australian Museum.

No, not the preserved or extinct kind, but fauna that is alive and well this time.

The museum will be hosting some of our favourite local wildlife including the cute, spiny, slimy, feathered and furry creatures that reside in our own backyards.

The local wildlife featured will be animals that are currently being protected and cared for by wildlife conservation teams.

Kids can also learn how we can help our native animals thrive in our modern world so that they don't end up in the museum under "extinct" (the animals not the kids).

The event is suitable for all ages and no bookings are required. The days you can pop in are the 7th, 8th, 10th, 15th and 17th April 2015. The event runs from 11:00am – 12:00pm on each day.

So nuture your inner wildlife warrior with some close up views of some local fauna and you may even learn some tips to help these little guys out.
