If you’re looking for somewhere to browse second-hand goods on a rainy day then the should be your first stop. The market is located on Smith Street in Collingwood and can be easily reached from the city by taking the number 86 tram (which departs from Bourke Street Mall). You can also take the train to Victoria Street station and walk down Johnston Street. The is open daily from 12pm to 6pm including weekends.

One of the main advantages of the market is that it is indoors, so you’re guaranteed shelter from the elements. While similar to an op-shop the market is crammed full of goods over two levels and items tend to be of a higher quality than what you would normally find.

Most stalls sell things like vintage clothing, shoes, bags, bric-a-brac and books. There is also a section near the entrance for second-hand furniture and for vintage gadgets such as old cameras and record players.

Prices for clothing range anywhere from $10 to over $100 for the best quality garments. However most of the clothes are in good condition and have been chosen for their quality which makes it easier to find something you can take home. It’s not hard to spend an afternoon here as there is a lot to look through and stalls tend to be quite cluttered.

If you’ve got time you can also browse along the diverse Smith St, which is a mix of discount stores, op shops and places to eat.
