London 2012 Olympics – Where to Catch All the Action

This year's biggest event, the event we have all been waiting for, is upon us. That's right, the London 2012 Olympics are almost here. Your dream might be to attend the London Olympics, but if this is a dream that cannot come true, you can still see all the best coverage in the comfort of your own home.



From the glorious opening ceremony, through every day of exciting competition right up to the closing ceremony, every moment will be broadcast live. There will be continuous coverage and highlights will be replayed each afternoon so you don't have to miss a moment.

The time difference between Australia and England means that most of the events will be screened in Australia in the late evening or early hours of the morning.

The opening ceremony starts at 6am (AEST) on Saturday 28 July, 2012. 16 days of competition follow and end with the closing ceremony on Monday 13 August, 2012.



Free-To-Air

The Nine Network will broadcast 'London Live' each day. Over fourteen hours of continuous live coverage will be screened, every day from 6.30pm until 9am the following morning. Highlights will be shown from 9am till 11am each morning in 'London Gold' and this will be replayed at 4pm each afternoon.

All the action will be broadcast on Analogue, Standard-Definition and High-Definition Digital channels. Nine will also broadcast up to five hours of 3D coverage every day. The opening ceremony will also be broadcast in 3D.

After the London 2012 Olympics have finished, the London 2012 Paralympics will begin and will be broadcast on ABC2 Digital from 29 August, 2012 until 9 September, 2012.



Foxtel

The London 2012 Olympics coverage on Foxtel starts on 25 July, 2012 and includes live coverage of all 14 football matches that precede the opening ceremony. Foxtel has eight dedicated Olympic channels, with six of them showing the pool, cycling track, gymnastics arena, field and equestrian events. Two channels will be showing a mixture of sports including football, hockey and beach volleyball.

All eight channels are available for free to customers that subscribe to a Foxtel Sports Package. Customers that subscribe to a Foxtel HD Package will be able to view all eight channels in HD.

On The Web

NineMSN will offer up-to-the-minute news, images and video on the internet. The site will also have a dedicated 'Catch-Up' TV service showing video online just six hours after it is broadcast on Channel Nine.

To make sure you don't miss any action NineMSN users can set up SMS and email alerts which will tell you when an event will appear live on TV or when the video is available on the 'Catch-Up' service.

NineMSN will have an interactive 'Aussie Focus' flash feature offering images and exclusive profile videos of our Aussie athletes.
