The
City Airport Fun Day, in its fourteenth year, is expecting up to 25,000 visitors this year. As a result of its continued success, it will be held a short distance from the airport, at Thames Barrier Park, with great views of the river and the impressive Thames Barrier.
There'll be lots to do - including sport and dance workshops to keep both children and adults fully entertained. The focus on health and fitness ties in nicely with the fact that the 2012 Olympic Stadium is located just two miles from the airport.
The Fun Day showcases and supports London businesses, as well as promoting a range of local arts and sports organisations.
The event also raises funds for Richard House Children's Hospice - a local charity dedicated to life-limited children and young adults.
The event is popular with the local community, but all are welcome. Admission is free and the event kicks off at 11.30am.
