Sister venue to Batca Food & Wine and Lona Pintxos in Armadale, newly opened Lona Pintxos Bar in St Kilda, has recently taken over the old Greasy Joe's with pink neon lights, bringing new life into Acland Street.

So what are pintxos? The word means 'spike' in Spanish and the food is similar to tapas. They're smaller portioned snacks made quite popular in the bars of Spain. Ideal for sharing, they'll allow you to try a variety of delicious food in one meal.

The plates range in size and are served on spikes. They're brought around the bar. Guest take what they like, save the spikes and pay at the end of their meal (similar to sushi-train style pay for plates concept).

You'll also find boutique Spanish beer Estrella Galicia on tap, a variety of cocktails and large wine list of Spanish, Australian and European wines.

A little bit restaurant, a little bit bar scene, it's a great new place for couples or groups wanting to try an array of different food and wine whilst sampling some Pintxos.

The location, like its sibling venue in Armadale, offers a free membership that then provides members with $1 pintxos and happy hour prices all day, every day. The venue is also available for functions and private parties.

Memberships can be done online or at the St Kilda venue.
