On average, 70% of household rubbish is recyclable. Some of these items can be salvaged and restored for sale at the
Logan Recycling Market (
349 Browns Plains Road, Heritage Park), where customers can purchase inexpensive second hand goods.
The Logan City Council salvages unwanted items from the waste stream and pieces donated by businesses and members of the public. Items that would ordinarily end up in landfill are restored and sold, with profits from all sales donated to local charities. Some of the materials that are collected and sold include furniture, toys, bicycles, tools and building materials.
This page provides more information on what can and can't be donated.
Items can be donated at the Browns Plains Smart Tip or the Carbrook Smart Tip (
1801 Mount Cotton Road, Cornubia). Council staff members will help you to remove items from your car or trailer. If you have larger second hand goods, you may be eligible for a free pick up service. This service is only available for some items in selected times and areas. To see if you are eligible, contact the Logan Recycling Market by calling (07) 3412 5459 during the week or (07) 3412 4755 on weekends.
The Logan Recycling Market is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10.00am until 5.00pm.
