Your Favourite Titles Sorted A-Z

For some, it takes a rollercoaster, a parachute or even a scary movie. For others, all it takes is a good, old-fashioned book sale to get the senses singing and the heart racing. Okay, that might have been a long bow, but if books are your passion and bargain buying tops your list of fun things to do, then the Lions Club Book Sale is sure to send you over the edge.
We're not talking a few books in a box here, people. We're talking a huge array - over 9,000 quality second-hand books - all on sale at bargain basement prices. Of course, both the fiction and non-fiction categories will be covered and prices start at only .50 cents.
Can you believe this, because I had to read it twice - apparently the fiction books will actually be sorted A-Z by author. Shut the front door! How often does that happen at a bargain jumble sale? I love when the books are sorted, making it easier to find my favourite authors. The non-fiction books will also be sorted, into 25 subject categories making searching there easier, too. Great work, Lions.
The kid's selection and small books will range from .50c to $1, standard paperbacks $2.50 each and large books no more than $3.50. How many books can your car hold? The Lions have assured me the quality and range this year is fantastic, with many of the books in near new condition.
Now you wouldn't expect this industrious group of philanthropists to be raising funds for their next Christmas dinner, and you'd be right. All proceeds raised by the book sale are being ploughed back into the community, helping an array of local clubs and community projects reach their goals. So come, buy big and give generously.
The Lions Club Book Sale is being held at the old school at "Black Flat" on the corner of Springvale and Waverley Roads, Glen Waverley on Saturday 20th May 2017 from 8am to 4pm and Sunday 21st May 2017 from 9am to 12noon.
