I love to be environmental, yet I haven't quite let go of the old suburban shopping impulse. I find being eco can create a form of cognitive dissonance that interferes with the joys of shopping and at times can distance me from my more mainstream girlpals. Brightly coloured, flower designs that are fun and casual. Plus, it's a girl thing, purses and handbags, accessories.

Lily Bloom handbags help solve this conundrum by being fun, female and environmental. The purses and passport or travel wallets are highly functional and are made of recyled bottles. Yes, recycled bottles.

I was drawn to the colours of the wallets and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are made of recycled bottles. It made me think of plastic soft drink bottles in a different light and might be a step towards eco shopping in a new way.

The big bags are fun, useful with pockets and extra pouches for mobile and other accessories. It's eco meets suburbia in a new way.

Exclusive to Strandbags and available at most shopping complexes. Strandbags also has a sale on this week.

Very cute - I like the one in the second picture, the ladybirds appeal to me. They would make a fun and interesting (and eco-ethical) present for girls who like a bit of colour.

Adorable... and solves some of my Christmas present shopping straight away. My sister-in-law mentioned only yesterday that she needed a new purse. Thank you.

I really loved your bags and the concept that were made from recycled materials was fantastic. I bought a back pack for one of my young friends for her 21 st birthday. I then vowed to save and buy a handbag for myself which I did. However after enjoying it for a few months I can no longer use it because it has frayed along the zippers and looks really tatty I am very disappointed. I cannot afford to pay $80 dollars for a bag that has such a short life span and now needs to be recycled.
