With Christmas fast approaching and life always seeming to get inconveniently busy and frantic at this time of year, it can be difficult to find our Christmas spirit and cheer.
For that warm and fuzzy feeling which will help you get into your Christmas groove, head in to Kind George on November 30th for the lighting of the Christmas tree - a tree which happens to be the largest solar powered Christmas tree in Australia - go Brisbane.
This wonderful annual tradition which marks the beginning of the silly season for many (as opposed to the increasingly earlier time when the supermarkets line the shelves with yuletide stock) is a fabulous, family friendly affair set to melt the coldest of hearts.
From a range of special guests including Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, and the one and only Santa, to the sweet sounds of everyone's favourite Christmas carols, to the collective 'aah' as the tree bursts into light and colour and sparkles; it is truly a beautiful sight to behold.
The event runs from 6.45pm - 8.45pm with the tree set to be lit at 7.15pm. Parking in the city is both limited and costly so it is worth considering public transport.
