Aireys Inlet, a small town situated along the iconic Great Ocean Road, will once again be hosting the Lighthouse Literary Fest between the 20th and 22nd of April, 2012.
The Aireys Inlet Pub will present a multitude of talented authors and writers, as they entertain, inform and interact with the crowd over the three-day literary event.
Among the 18 guest speakers are plenty of award-winning writers, who certainly raise the calibre of the festival.
Included in this accomplished list of guests are two authors who have been recently long-listed for the Miles Franklin Award, a prestigious Australian literary prize- Favel Parrett (for her novel Past The Shallows) and Charlotte Wood (for Animal People).
Another author who will be present at the event, Chris Womersley, won the Australian Book Industry Award (ABIA) Literary Fiction Book of the Year in 2011, as well as the 2011 Indie Award for Fiction, for her novel Bereft.
There will also be actors, cartoonists, essayists, poets, broadcasters, and a variety of people heralding from a range of literary professions, on hand to discuss the finer points of their work to the audience.
These are just some of the award-winning books whose authors will be present at the Lighthouse Literary Fest
For those interested, there will be several workshops running where budding writers can get tips and advice from some of the festival guests, although there are only limited places available, so bookings are essential.
This is a great opportunity for readers to meet the writers whose work they love and admire, and should not be missed.
Tickets are available from Great Escape Books in Aireys Inlet, and can be purchased from the store (during opening hours), or over the phone (call (03) 5289 7052).
