After successfully launching and running three stores in Melbourne, Leonard St. Designer and founder Amanda McCarthy has brought her passion and creative flair for original, unique, and attention-grabbing prints to Adelaide, by opening her 1st store by Ebenezer Place along the East End.
The concept for designs was created accidentally through doodles, but Amanda stumbled upon the potential to produce something with a "bold style aesthetic".
Coming from a background in Ceramic Design & Sculpture as well as retail, Amanda has crossed her skill set with that of art to create clothing and accessories that boast of colourful and trendy patterns. A mother of two, Amanda also draws inspiration from children's story books and uses those elements to kickstart her imaginative mind into full gear. There are hints of the classic designs, which are sprinkled with a bit of modernity.
The location of Leonard St in Adelaide is a prime one, with lots of cafes, restaurants, and other well-loved spots that bring in a good amount of foot traffic. The store itself is quite spacious and allows for ample time for customers to browse, try on, and purchase the goodies with a peaceful mind.
Leonard St is just what Adelaide needs to step out of its comfort zone and appreciate the originality presented through its designs.
Special thanks to Amanda McCarthy for inviting me to the launch of this store and to East End Providore for the delicious charcuterie platter that had guests nibbling at it for what was an enjoyable evening of socialising and celebrations!
