Lazzat is a casual Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian restaurant on Lygon Street in Carlton. It's open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

I describe Lazzat as 'casual' because you order and pay from a bain-marie at the top of some stairs.

I chose rice and two dishes – a pumpkin curry and a lamb curry, but there were heaps of other options, including chili chicken and beef rendang, and you can also order off their menu (e.g. nasi goreng, noodles, spring rolls etc.).

My meal wasn't super hot (in terms of temperature or spice), it was served on a plastic tray, and there were bones in the lamb. But it was dished up in seconds, a generous portion, tasty enough, and only cost $6!

Customer service was friendly and take-away is also available.
