There is little doubt everyone will be shaking a tail feather to the Latin Fiesta Weekend, courtesy of The Food Truck Park in Preston on the weekend of Friday 27th May – Sunday 29th May 2016.
Food Truck Park has become so successful, earning rave reviews for serving more than your average street fare, it is now a regular dinner venue for heaps of people and their families. But organisers like to keep it fresh by hosting special events throughout the year and the Latin Fiesta Weekend in May is one such highlight.
Expect all the fun, frivolity and flavour of authentic Latin American cuisine as you Samba your way through the range of delicious menu options. The Preston Food Trucks have promised a showcase of the best Latin food has to offer outside of Cuba and Brazil, and one thing is certain, no one will Tango home hungry.
The event will heat up around the Cha-Cha-Cha when a dazzling line-up of entertainment takes to the stage for a visual feast. See all the colours and sounds of Latin America brought to life in a rainbow filled party atmosphere as a nod toward this year's Olympic Games, which are being held in Rio.
The Food Truck Park in Preston has been established on a former car yard and warehouse site, and in keeping with the history of the site The Food Truck Park has been set up as a perpetual 'block party venue.' Scaling 3000smq, it has an outdoor seating area, indoor warehouse space and onsite car park. The venue is fully licensed, with Barry's Bar serving craft beer and cider on tap alongside wine and pre-mixed spirits. There are also function spaces available catering for everything from private to corporate events.
The Food Truck Park, Preston was established to support and help grow the mobile food industry. It has emerged as an edgy and vibrant food haven for one of the fastest growing food trends in Melbourne. The park is open Friday nights from 5pm – 10pm, Saturdays from 12noon to 10pm and Sundays from 12noon – 9pm, catering for lunch right through to dinner then supper afterwards.

People of all ages are welcome and there is plenty of street parking along High, Wood and Youngman Streets. If you're catching public transport, take the 86 tram from Melbourne CBD to Wood Street/Plenty Road then rhumba 10 minutes up Wood Street. For train travellers, salsa North of the city toward South Morang and jive off at Preston Station. Take a left twirl onto Clinch Avenue, a right skip onto Murray Road then left again onto High Street, Preston.
