Late Night Library is a special weekly late night entertainment programme presented by the City of Sydney.

The special events programme, which occurs all year round, consists of public lectures, various workshops, film screenings, reading clubs and music performances.
The assorted special events are completely
free (however bookings may be required for some events) and are held at Surry Hills Library, located at 405 Crown Street, Surry Hills.
Some of the highlights of the
Summer 2011 Late Night Library special events programme include;

Maria Venuti: A Whole Lot of Front' - a
book launch event to be held on Thursday November 10 from 6.00pm. Bookings are essential to attend this event.

In Conversation: Mark Dapin and Stephen Romei' - Stephen Romei, Literary Editor at The Australian and Good Weekend columnist Mark Dapin will present a special public lecture on Thursday November 17 from 6.30pm. Dapin recently released his latest novel, titled
Spirit House this year. Bookings are essential to attend this event.

Scrabble Club: Every Word Counts' - a special event for lovers of Scrabble. Come and play a game of Scrabble to the tunes of cover band Glitch Jukebox. This special event will be held on November 17 from 9.00pm. Bookings are essential to attend this event.

Social Media For: Emerging Musicians' is a special masterclass with musicians Jai Al-Attas (
One Is A Word), Ashley Chang (
Pedestrian Group), and Claire Collins (
Bossy). It will be held on Thursday November 24 from 6:00pm. Bookings are essential to attend this program.

Live Music @Late Night Library' is a special event which will be held on Thursday November 24. A series of local artists and bands will perform at Surry Hills Library from 9:00pm.

John Ogden: Saltwater People of the Broken Bays - Sydney's Northern Beaches' is a combined book launch event and exhibition. John Ogden will present a special public lecture and an accompanying exhibition at Surry Hills Library from 6.00pm on Thursday December 1. Bookings are essential to attend this event.

Janey de Neefe, who has just released her second cookbook, '
Bali: The Food of my Island Home.' This anticipated event will be held on Saturday November 12 from 11.00am. Bookings are essential to attend this event.

A Crafty Christmas with Kelly Doust' - learn how to create handmade Christmas gifts for friends and family with Kelly Doust, author of
Minxy Vintage, A Life in Frocks, The Crafty Minx and The Crafty Kid. This workshop is open to teenagers and adults. This special event will be held on Saturday November 19 from 1.00pm. Bookings are essential to attend this event.
