Shoot Me Now

Laser Skirmish (or laser tag) is a game in which people play mock war games, shooting each other using infrared emitting (or laser) guns. The infrared light is detected by targets attached to each of the players.

Typically gameplay is based around two teams who try to outwit each other in a number of different game scenarios such as last man standing, capture the flag, defend the fortress, or protect the leader.

It's generally considered less physical than paintball in that you don't get bruised by high-speed exploding projectiles, and for that reason is also suitable for youngsters to play as well.

Laser tag is played outdoors or indoors, usually at purpose build arenas, which have been set up with various obstacles to climb over and hide behind.

Click here for more on the history of the game.

There are quite a few laser skirmish fields in Sydney including Battle Fun (Campbelltown), First Strike (Glenworth Valley), and M9 (Darling Harbour).

You can even hire the gear and host your own party with Laser Tag.

For your viewing pleasure here is a laser tag game in action, and here is a more surreal though entertaining version.

Why? It gets the adrenalin flowing.

COST: $10 to $50
