Head down Vincent Street Daylesford and step into Larder for great coffee, conversation and cuisine. Larder presents like a Brunswick cafe, but gives good old country hospitality, like Spa Country should.

The breakfast is to die for and the coffee is rigorous Melbourne style coffee - great for a pick-me-up after a lavish day at the Hepburn Springs Bath House, or in between visits to the many antique shops, books and art galleries that Daylesford boasts.

But best of all, Larder is the 'local'. A sign of a great cafe is whether the locals go there, so go to Larder and enjoy the great service and locally sourced produce like 'Istra' bacon, homemade condiments, jams, teas, a fine array of local wines, and a spot of traditional country homewares to spruce up your kitchen back home.

Personally, for a light lunch, I recommend the 'Larder share platter' which is a fine assortment of terrines, mousses, cured meats and pickles. But if you're looking for a very light breakfast the toasted sultana and honey loaf is a warm and spicy friend to accompany an espresso.
