Innocuously situated on Little Lonsdale St, between Russel and Exhibition, this restaurant is a centrally located laksa bar that doesn't disappoint.

Its modern, minimalist dining area is located next to the kitchen, the glass partition begging you to watch as your food is prepared.

Laksa here comes in many styles, though my favourite is the House Curry Laksa. With a super creamy coconut base it's not 100% authentic, however the spices are well balanced, and the servings generous. The only downside to my delicious meal was that my eggplant would have benefited from slightly longer in the pot.

As well as the many laksa style options, you can also choose the protein type. The vegetarian is the base version, with eggplant, tomato, mushrooms, egg and tofu (note that it's not actually vegetarian, as there is some fish paste used in the sauce). Chicken and soft shelled crab are both popular, each added to the vegetarian base.

Two sizes are available, small and regular. Of the four people at my table, one man ordered the small serve. He was the only one to finish his bowl, and pronounced himself full. At only a few dollars more (vegetarian regular: $11.90, vegetarian small: $10.40) its easy to decide to order the larger serve, but unless you're quite hungry, I recommend the small.

You order at the counter, and set your own table after grabbing chopsticks and water. Drinks (including alcohol) are available for purchase. The meals are brought out promptly and the service was friendly. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area, but I wouldn't plan a whole trip around it.
