Ducks, birds and turtles are just some of the wildlife you will experience if and when you visit The Lake at Forest Lake.
People who live here take this lake for granted, but for anyone else, it is a great place for a picnic, a bike ride, a walk, or even just to lie under a tree and enjoy a good book. Some people will even take the opportunity on a nice day to use this lake as a place to go canoeing.



Located in the heart of Forest Lake, there are plenty of grassed areas to set up camp for the day with your whole family. There are a few BBQs located at different points of the Lake if you would prefer to cook something hot.

If you are not a person who likes to pack a picnic lunch and head off, about a 5 minute walk from the lake is the Forest Lake Shopping Centre which will give you many food options. There is a McDonalds, Red Rooster, The Coffee Club, and a few speciality restaurants where you are sure to find somewhere that will entice your tastebuds.

If you are worried about the kids there is no need to be with small playgrounds located around The Lake and plenty of green grass for them to kick around a ball.

On a nice day, the views of the lake are beautiful and the scenery does not get much better with lots of greenery and wildlife.



I have lived around this area for a couple of years now and try to frequently get out of the house to go for a walk or a run, depending on the day. The lake circumference is around 2.5km so it will keep the kids occupied for 30 minutes to 45 minutes (dependent on how often they stop to play on the playgrounds and admire the wildlife). It also is a good distance for a run if you are wishing to complete your daily exercise in a different scenery.

I was also actually quite surprised at how many people use The Lake as a place to either conduct their wedding ceremony or to take their wedding pictures. When I think about it, it really is a great location on a bright sunny day to enhance this once in a lifetime memory.

So if you are looking for a location for wedding photos or if you need to get the kids out of the house The Lake at Forest Lake is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit.
