Young and coffee in varying degrees, Kat also says stuff @ThoroughlyMode

When applied to these German style sausages, the word 'wurst' seems unfair. For they're surely the very opposite to worst, but instead the best German style sausages in town? But all sausage puns aside, folks, these are some quality bratwursts, rindwursts (beef sausages), currywursts (spicy sausages), käsewursts (cheese, beef and pork sausages), krakauers (spicy beef and pork sausages) and frankfurters.

And Kurz & Lang would know, as they're, not surprisingly, considering the name, German. But it's not just a matter of importing the recipe, oh no, that wouldn't be precise enough for K&L's German regulars, no these wursts are made to order in the Rhineland – or at least that's where the meat comes from. Then cooked to order on the K&L's grill in their little kitchen/ cafe. For you to eat-in perched on stools, or take away.

Either way your wurst is served all chopped up and ready to go, preferably with a side of fried potato cubes, sauerkraut, potato salad, and a pretzel. Or a roll and fries if you're not quite ready to embrace the full Germanic meal. And probably one of a healthy selection of German beers and lagers on the side if you know about matching the right tipple with the right nosh.

In the interest of efficiency, they do meal deals. A wurst and cubes is £5, wurst, cubes, sauerkraut and bread is £6.30, and for an additional 30p you can substitute a pretzel for the roll. Good times.

I'm not advocating the pork and coffee mix, but Kurz & Lang do a special where if you pay for your wurst using AMEX they'll give you a coffee for free... Usually AMEX is the card of doom these days, the one no one accepts. Which just goes to prove how differently they do things in Germany still.
Guten Appetit!
