**Cozy granny's garden brought back childhood sweet memories
**

If you are planning a day trip to discover the Yarramalong Valley , should be the first stop if you travel from Sydney. It is situated above the scenic Yarramalong Valley, overlooking the Tuggerah Lake.

When we arrived, Granny Beryl was waiting for us at the wooden pavilion where there was a well presented information table set up for our convenience. I was so touched by her hospitality that even after her recent hip replacement operation, she still managed to take us on a lovely garden tour with the assistance of a push walker.

The garden is a symbol of the lovely union of Beryl and her late husband who passed away not long after they settled into the Koorinya Park. Beryl built and maintained the whole garden by herself until recently when her daughter took it over. As a result of their joint efforts the garden has won numerous rewards from Wyong Shire including the Central Coast Grand Champion. It is an ideal venue for a romantic wedding ceremony.

Beryl took us to the beautiful Bridal Arch and told us that it made her so happy to witness so many happy occasions in the garden: celebrations of a new births, re-affirmations of long term marriages and commitments to a new marriages. Sometimes even when she was standing there alone, she could still feel the happy atmosphere around here. I have also noticed that there are many picnic tables and chairs decorated around the garden, but mainly for two people only. Maybe there are also the sweet memories about Beryl and her beloved husband?

Later on, Beryl took us to see a selection of lovely pot plants on one side of the wall. She said that during spring time the wall becomes covered in colors and flowers. I also noticed that there were many pot plants hanging on the tree branches here and there. Various objects decorated without any careful planning bring a subtle beauty to the garden, whether it is a sundial, a metal frog statue, or a lovely statue featuring an angel lying on the grass reading poems. They just brought so much life to the garden.

Our tour ended at the beautiful oriental fish pond. It was a very vivid contrast to the other part of the garden in terms of layout and character. There were no big flowers with bright colors to draw your attention. The juxtaposition of a swan statue and the water lily leaves was enough to create a peaceful Zen zone and keep us entranced right here.

Beryl suggested that next time we visit, it would be great to bring our picnic sets and tea bags. It is a perfect place to sit down and enjoy a lovely picnic with the beautiful ocean views before us. We felt so cosy here, as if it was a trip down memory lane, bringing back sweet memories of childhood and grandma's backyard. Don't you have some?
