Looking for a sunny verandah to dine on?
It's always exciting to enter a lovely old building that oozes a sense of calm, hospitality and friendliness.

Kingston House, a gorgeous old building built in 1901 is located in Channon Street, Gympie and if you are like me and like all things old, this restaurant will certainly fit the bill.

A grande old building

There are plenty of places to sit, including hideaway corners on lounges and a large dining hall inside.

An extensive menu complete with lunch specials (pretty good value). I chose the fish which arrived on a bed of crispy fresh salad (delish) along with a glass of wine for $17 - so I was pretty happy with that.
Not your ordinary fish and salad
Beautifully presented and totally divine

A few of the patrons at my table ordered the popular seafood hot pot which arrived looking splendidly colourful, with a yummy piece of toasted bread. Others went for the lunch special, which included 4 choices all up, including a very nice looking chicken Thai curry.

The service was excellent - the food didn't take long to come out and the ambiance was sublime. A friend ordered a bottle of wine and we didn't mind paying $24, which I thought was most reasonable.

Kingston House is open Tuesday - Saturday. They cater for vegetarians, gluten free and peanut free diets and diabetics. Definitely worth checking out if your in Gympie and looking for that somewhere special to get together with your friends or family.
