Mon 27 Jun 2016 - Fri 01 Jul 2016

The Shirley Burke Theatre in Parkdale is where all the fun is at this winter. Kingston Arts' Creative Lounge will set up camp here again, with a bumper packed series of kids workshops and events.

The character filled boutique hub in Melbourne South East boasts a refurbished 167 seat theatre, an art gallery and expansive foyer reserved for school holiday workshops.

This winter, your children can craft, take part in robot wars, draw and sculpt superheros or become a Feelings Detective. Little folk aren't left out either, with a fun magical giggle show.

Here's the lowdown:

Winter Craft for 3 - 5 years on Monday 27 June 2016, 1-2pm

Your kid's host for the afternoon will talk about nature during winter, and lead a themed craft activity decorating handmade candles, and a snuggly toy with fabric and nut shells.

Cost: $15

Winter Craft for 6 - 10 years on Monday 27 June 2016, 2:30-4pm

Your older-aged kids get to print, shape and make winter themed crafts using natural and recycled materials. Such materials include bee's wax, felt, gum nuts and leaves.

Your kids will be modelling, crafting with felt, printing and candle making.

Tech Camp Robot Warrior Challenge on Tuesday 28 June, 9:30am - 12:30pm

The ever popular tech camp robot warrior challenge is back for your 8 - 12 year olds. Your children pair up and build a Lego mindstorms robot, which will go into the 'arena' to battle against other robots. There can only be one winner, who will it be?

Super Hero Drawing on Wednesday 29 June, 10am - 12noon

Your super hero fans age 5 plus will love learning to draw an action figure with acclaimed artist Juliet D Collins. There will be fun times exploring different drawing methods, experimenting with techniques to create unique artworks.

Feelings Detective Playshop on Thursday 30 June, 2-4.30pm

Let your child tap into hidden feelings with an afternoon of creative arts, mindfulness, breathing techniques and relaxation. This playshop empowers kids to be their own Feelings Detective and help solve the mystery! Suited to kids age 5- 9 years.

The Snow Giggle Show on Friday 1 July, 10am

This one is for your little ones. A fun magical show to entertain babies and kids age 2 to 7. Slip down the snow flurry slide and come along to a magical wintry voyage to the land of Snow Giggles.

Cost: $5 - Children age 2 plus. No cost for under two, and one adult goes free.
Drop off your kids for a few hours of entertainment, and grab yourself a coffee from one of the many cafes in Parkdale's shopping strip.
