Everyone was in a flap to get their peckers into some wings at the King of the Wings launch last Wednesday evening.

The King of the Wings already has a huge following in Brisbane after winning No.1 food vendor. They also landed 2nd place at the New York Buffalo Wing Festival 2016 in the best Wings sauce category.

They have arrived in Sydney. I was one of the lucky media and food bloggers that were invited to the tasting party held at The Observer Hotel at The Rocks. Guests were crammed shoulder to shoulder, waiting patiently to devour the first tasty morsel of poultry perfection.

At the Bar, the bad boys from Earl's Juke Joint were creating crowd pleasers with a selection of specialised cocktails from Honky Tonks, Banana Maple Old Fashioneds and Cadillac Spritzs.

My favourite cocktail was the Banana Maple Old Fashioned , made with banana infused Bulleit Rye Whiskey, maple syrup and bitters with an orange zest twist.

The cocktails all had a sweet and bitter taste, which were not only unusually delicious but also the ideal palate teaser for the upcoming array of chicken wings.

Tummies were ready and the crowd was suitably excited to devour some poultry delights.

We would be tasting four of their best wings.

Food Bloggers and snap happy chaps were at the ready to snatch their first wing of the night from the gorgeous King of the Wings waiters.

One cluck, two clucks and all the cameras were flashing. It was almost a peck to the death to get a wing.

The first round were the traditional American style Wings with a smokey barbecue sauce.

Next were the Sweet Chilli infused Sesame Seed Wings. Finger licking goodness; no one cared how sticky and messy their faces were - nom nom.

Even though the wings almost flew off the platters, there was still plenty to eat with crunchy sweet potato fries and mini salads.

Soon more tasty wings arrived with side spoons of rice.

I was looking forward to tasting the Signature Southern-style Wings- I wasn't disappointed. They came out piping hot, coated in a herb and special sauce, then deep fried to a crunchy finish. Still juicy inside.

Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to taste the Chillogy Wings. They flew out faster than I could swoop. We settled for a couple more cocktails.

The night was still young but it was still a school night, so we grabbed our tote bag and headed off into the night with full bellies and sticky faces. We now knew who cooked the best chicken wings and would be keeping an eye out at future Sydney events for the King of the Wings food truck
