Drama With A Difference is one of Australia's leading, independent drama schools. With a history that spans over twenty-years, it is also the launching pad of many successful Australian actors; many of whom begun their careers at this school as children.

As professional practitioners, we have an excellent reputation for providing casting consultants with talented children and our classes are a must for any budding young actor.

At the same time, we are realistic about the industry side of things with all parents and children; encouraging all families to make formal education a priority.

We equally welcome children who want to attend drama classes for recreational purposes. Our teachers are deeply committed to using drama to assist children to overcome shyness, develop self-esteem, make new friends, or simply have fun! The skills that a child learns in our drama classes are skills for life.

We teach our classes in a non-competitive, nurturing environment, where the emphasis is on personal best. All our teachers have current working with children permits.

We run weekly classes for children aged between 7 and 12, and are in the process of taking enrolments for Term 2. Classes run from either Clifton Hill or Kew and all the times and dates are available here.

When visiting the link, it is also a good idea to look at our entire website. It is very comprehensive and gives you an idea of our history, philosophy, students of note, films, TV shows and theatre productions that past and current students have appeared in, our teachers' backgrounds and a host of other information!

All children perform in a live production in the final term of the school year, and we try to make this production take place early in the term to avoid the pressures of the holiday season. We have access to a lovely, intimate theatre that seats 40 people, and is ideal for children's performances. Our shows involve all children in more or less equal parts; we do not hold productions with large and small roles, and the kids play a large part in the creation of our shows.
