Kerbside Lounge Bar

Published December 6th 2010
Have you ever wondered what those people who trawl the sidewalks during the Brisbane City Council Kerbside Collection do with their hoard? Some of them open funky inner city bars.

Kerbside Lounge Bar (Constance Street, Fortitude Valley) is the latest, too-cool-for-school inner city bar. The venue; a converted drive through bottle store that is tucked away in Fortitude Valley's backstreets. The gimmick; decor courtesy of kerbside collection. This laneway bar is chock full of trash and treasure finds, from the mismatched couches and armchairs to the Kamahl record wall – all artistically arranged by professional interior designers, of course.

Kerbside offers snacks and cafe style dining, a huge range of non-alcoholic drinks (tea, coffee, milkshakes, juices and soft drinks) and a bar offering appropriately named cocktails like The Granny Flat. The lounge also has free Wi-Fi and music.
