As everyone knows, this week marks the last few days of Lent. To those of you unfamiliar with this ancient Christian tradition, it encompasses the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday and it is customary to increase your consumption of fish during this season.

As a major fish and chip connoisseur each restaurant or side store seems to offer their own "catch o` the day", adding a special ingredient here, or a dash of something secretly there. None, seem to tempt my palate however, so much so as the aquatic cuisine offered at the little Greek store residing in the heart of Kenmore Village.

The Graecian Sea Line is the second largest in Europe, so fish culture has a special position in the country. This culture being the heart of this little restaurant therefore leaves little to wonder as to how this business has been bustling since it's conception.
It is not often that the aroma wafting out of their 'Fresh and Cooked Seafood' store does not seize passersbys, beckoning them into the glorious "crack" "pop" and "sizzle" of the fish, chips and other delicious wonders frying in the back room.

I have bought my fish n chips from this store more times then I can remember, and the staff always have a ready smile on hand, making the service second to none. This asset paired with their secret batter recipe is the restaurant's tool for success, as it is never soggy but always a thick crunchy coating, which tantalises the taste buds until the meal has all safely been consumed.

The menu is vast, offering a wide range of fish including Sea Perch, Emperor and Dory. For those tried and true seafood connoisseurs out there, however, I personally always hanker for some freshly cooked barramundi or a nice piece of crispy cod. This sided with some of their thick chips, golden brown calamari rings and large potato scallops makes a meal no person can turn away from.
