Kambah District Park is a network of bike paths, community gardens, historical buildings and a huge Adventure Playground which will delight and astound all kids.

Did I mention it was huge?

The playground is so big that it is split into different areas. Firstly, the kids can have a slide down one of the biggest slides most kids have ever seen in a local park. Mum or Dad may be required to get the little ones to the top, however for the older kids it is a real thrill to slide down and find the fastest way. Although it looks fast, it isn't too scary and it has a bump half way down to slow things up for them.

Behind the slide is an extensive and high climbing frame which is not for the faint hearted. There is also a small flying fox with a mound platform so the kids can get on easily before they slide along. This fox doesn't go too fast, so it is good for kids on their own or a tandem flight to the end.

For teenagers and adults there is also a larger, faster flying fox available. In my several trips to this park I have only ever seen somebody on this once, so I suspect it is very fast or perhaps broken.

There are two swings on older larger frames and a spinning section with three spinning toys to enjoy. Two of them are for standing up on and twirling as well as a circular roundabout to lie on and turn around (which can get hot in Summer, best to feel it first).

If this hasn't tired out your young one enough, it is time to go to the area for the smaller kids. There is a miniature metal slide here where the kids can race each other side by side.

In this area there are swings, bouncy toys to sit on, a climbing wall and purple roundabout (an unusual playground toy which our daughter hasn't figured out how to sit in yet!).

When you have finished in this shady spot there is no time to relax as there is yet another playground to visit. There are ramps, bridges, slide, bouncy toys, net swing and a wheelchair access swing behind.

There are some benches in the shade for carers to have a rest, even if the kids don't want to.

Another feature of this playground is the large open space to run around in and bike paths, so perhaps pack a soccer ball and the kids bikes as well. There are also 3 free BBQ's to utilise and a large number of picnic tables so you can take a breather and have some lunch before going back to play. In the warmer months this is a popular park for parties and celebrations, so you may find there is a wait for the BBQ's as people get there early.

There are also toilet facilities (although old and dark but they are still available) and bubblers.

If your kids love sandpits, bring their dump trucks to enjoy a play in this shady and quiet spot away from the rest of the playground.

Kambah Adventure Park is a popular and favourite park by local kids and for those who come from further afield. On weekends and school holidays it is a busy area to play and new friends can be made. With all the walking required to get from one area to the next, they are sure to sleep well that night.

This park never gets old, so once you have been once your kids will be wanting to come back time and time again.

And again.
