From the people that bought us the lamented Troubadour in Fortitude Valley comes this little gem of a watering hole.

Situated on the corner of Ashgrove Ave and Waterworks Rd in Ashgrove, hearkens back to the grand old days of velvet and geometric prints. Fitted out entirely with recycled retro kitsch and boasting an eclectic record collection, taxidermy deer, plastic palms and vintage lamps, has a primal 1970's tiki bar vibe going on.

With its dim lighting (the majority of illumination is provided by the lovely vintage lamps and flickering candles) and dark woodland wallpaper is the perfect place to spend a lazy evening sipping whiskey and getting lost in conversation amongst friends. They have an extensive list of cocktails, wine and spirits and also offer a selection of bar food.

Excitingly though they are now open from 10am, and have extended their services to offer coffee, juice and bagels for the bright-eyed morning crowd, or those in need of a hushed spot to recover.

The entrance is on the corner of Waterworks Rd and Ashgrove Ave. Just look for the crates full of records (for sale) and heavy gold curtains.
